Due to Covid-19 no statutory tests were taken in 2020.
We have enthusiastic learners and are very proud of our latest end of Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 results – and the school’s improving performance.
2019 Results show we are maintaining our improvement
We are now at or close to national averages in most subjects. Our progress in Greater Depth ( GDS) this year was pleasing.

Year 2 Reading: 80% are at Expected Standard (EXS) with 22% at Greater Depth Standard (GDS) – these were 75% and 26% nationally in 2018.
Year 2 Writing: 72% are EXS and13% are GDS –are close to the national average (70% / 16%) and will be an area for development in 2019-20.
Year 2 Maths: 75% are EXS and 15% are GDS – these were 76% and 22% nationally in 2018. We will be working on having more GDS mathematicians next year.
Combined RWM 65% of children are EXS in RWM and 7% of children were greater depth. This matches national figures EXS 2018 ( 65%) but is lower than GDS nationally ( 11%)
Year 6 Reading: 69% are at Expected Standard (EXS) with 31% at Greater Depth Standard (GDS) – the 2019 national average is 73% – 27% GDS. This is lower than the national average and will be an area for development in 2019-20.
Year 6 Writing: 74% are EXS and 15% are at GDS – this is lower than the national average (78% for EXS and 20% GDS) and will be an area for development in 2019-20.
Year 6 Maths: 84% are at EXS and 40% are at GDS – the 2019 national average is 79% – 27% GDS. Key stage 2 attainment of the high standard (110+) in mathematics (40%) was significantly above national and in the highest 20% of all schools in 2019.
Year 6 GPS: 82% are at EXS and 49% at GDS. The 2019 national average was 78% and 36% and we are higher in both. In 2019, 49% of pupils achieved the high standard (110+) in the key stage 2 English grammar, punctuation and spelling test, significantly above national and in the highest 20% of all schools.
Year 6 RWM: 62% of children were EXS in reading, writing and maths (it was just 46% in 2016), we are still 3% below the national average. 9% of children were GDS Nationally only 11% reach this. Further improvements in reading and writing will help us get this higher in the future.
We are pleased with our results – and what the children achieved – this year, but we know there is more to be done so we are regularly in-line with or better than the national average in all subjects.
